Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

This Acceptable Use Policy (hereinafter “this Policy”) is an important part of the PhotoRestore (hereinafter “the Website” or “we”) Terms of Service. It defines the behavioral boundaries and prohibited content when using our AI photo restoration service. Using the Website means you agree to comply with all provisions of this Policy.

1. Purpose of the Policy

PhotoRestore is committed to helping users restore and preserve precious old photos with AI. To maintain a safe, respectful, lawful and responsible environment, we have established this Acceptable Use Policy to clarify which types of content and behavior are not permitted.

2. Prohibited Content

2.1 Pornographic and sexually suggestive content

The Website strictly prohibits the following types of content:

  • ⛔ Any form of pornographic, nude or sexual content
  • ⛔ Content containing sexual innuendo, solicitation or soft-core pornography
  • ⛔ Any inappropriate content involving minors (zero tolerance; we will report to the relevant authorities immediately upon discovery)
  • ⛔ Content that objectifies, exploits or violates the dignity of others in any form

2.2 Violence and hate content

  • ⛔ Photos that promote, glorify or incite violence
  • ⛔ Content containing hate speech, racial discrimination, sexism, religious discrimination or any form of discriminatory content
  • ⛔ Content depicting cruelty, gore or abuse
  • ⛔ Photos that harass, threaten, bully or intimidate others

2.3 Face-swapping and deepfakes

  • ⛔ Any form of face-swapping
  • ⛔ Any form of deepfake content generation
  • ⛔ Any operation that attempts to manipulate, misrepresent or impersonate another person's facial identity
  • ⛔ Uploading photos of others for restoration without their explicit consent

2.4 Infringing and illegal content

  • ⛔ Photos that infringe others' copyrights, trademarks or other intellectual property
  • ⛔ Personal photos or private content uploaded without the consent of the person photographed
  • ⛔ Content related to illegal activities (such as drugs, weapons, fraud, etc.)
  • ⛔ Any content that violates the laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China

3. Content Review and Handling

3.1 Right to review

We reserve the right (but not the obligation) to review uploaded content. We may use a combination of automated tools and manual review to detect violating content.

3.2 Handling of violations

If we find that you have uploaded content that violates this Policy, we may take one or more of the following measures:

  • Content removal: immediately delete the violating content without notice
  • Account restriction: temporarily or permanently restrict your account features
  • Account termination: permanently close your account without refunding remaining points
  • Legal reporting: report violations to relevant law enforcement agencies where laws are broken
  • Rights reserved: reserve the right to pursue legal liability and claim compensation

3.3 Reporting mechanism

If you discover that other users have uploaded content violating this Policy, please contact us immediately:

We will investigate promptly after receiving a report and take appropriate action.

4. Your Responsibilities

You are fully responsible for all photos and content uploaded through your account. Before using the service, please ensure:

  • You have the right to use and upload the photo (ownership or authorization)
  • The photo content does not include anything that violates this Policy
  • If the photo contains the likeness of others, you have obtained their consent
  • The intended use of the photo complies with all applicable laws

5. Policy Updates

We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect service changes, user feedback or legal requirements. For significant changes, we will notify you via a site announcement. Continuing to use the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
